Interests

My thesis is about generics, sentences like Bus drivers are grumpy or Seagulls rummage in bins. I’m interested in what we use these sentences for, under what conditions they are true and what if anything answers to those first two questions tell us about when we should say them. I also have side interests in a variety of other topics, including meta-semantics, indeterminacy in language and thought, and non-linguistic representation of information.

Papers
